Ryanair is to close its website and mobile app for eight hours from 6.30pm on Wednesday, it has announced.

The eight-hour closure, which will last until 2.30am on Thursday, March 23, is being shut down for a "systems upgrade", the airline says.

New bookings, online check-in and changes to existing flights will not be available during this eight-hour period, Ryanair has warned.

Customers travelling on Wednesday and Thursday are urged to check-in online for their flight on Tuesday, 21st March, before the closure takes place.

Ryanair has contacted all customers booked to travel on Wednesday, March 22 and Thursday, March23  by email and SMS text to advise them of the issue.

It apologised for any inconvenience caused.
