Any pretense of 'Black Friday' being a single day jetted away this morning as Ryanair launched a week-long sales promotion.

For the next seven days, the airline is promising a new wheeze on its website (ryanair.com) daily, starting with a 'Christmas seat sale'.

Until midnight Monday, 500,000 seats have been released with discounts of up to 15pc, available for travel in December.

As we publish, sale fares include flights from Dublin to Paris Beauvais, Brussels Charleroi, Glasgow and London Stansted from €9.99 each-way.

Other deals include Lanzarote, Marrakesh and Tenerife South from €33.99, and Budapest and Faro from €21.99 (depending on dates, of course).

Ryanair is also offering 20pc off 20kg checked bags.

A new baggage policy, which was to have come into effect from November 1st, was recently delayed until January 15.

Once introduced, it will see free 10kg carry-on bags axed for all but Priority Boarding Customers. Passengers who do not pay the €5 charge for Priority Boarding will have to check the larger of their two carry-on bags at the boarding gate (for free).

Black Friday deals will be announced daily until Sunday.
