Day 2 of Ryanair's week-long Black Friday promotion has kicked off with the release of 100,000 seats at just €4.99 a pop.

Even by Ryanair's standards, those sale prices are low - with €4.99 fares available from Dublin to Paris Beauvais, Cologne, Brussels and Edinburgh, and from Kerry to Berlin and Frankfurt, among other destinations, as we publish.

Flights must be booked online (ryanair.com) by midnight tonight to avail of the fares, which are available for travel in January 2018 only.

For the next seven days, the airline is promising a new discount on its website (ryanair.com) daily, and is also offering 20pc off 20kg checked bags.

The Black Friday sales are the latest in a series of winter discounts Ryanair promised in the wake of its catastrophic pilot "rostering failure" this autumn.

The airline cancelled thousands of flights, disrupting the travel plans of hundreds of thousands of passengers over the winter months.

Black Friday deals will be announced daily until Sunday.
