Force awakens at Disneyland Paris with new Star Wars attraction
A galaxy not so far away
The Force is awakening in Disneyland Paris in early 2017, with the resort splashing out on a huge celebration of the Star Wars saga.
'Season of the Force' at Disneyland Paris will feature live characters and a 'giant night-time spectacular' including a light show projected onto Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Aimed at guests of all ages, from the youngest Padawan to the wisest Jedi, Season of the Force blasts off on January 14 and runs to March 26.
During daytimes, guests will meet heroes from the Star Wars universe, ranging from patrols of Stormtroopers to an encounter with Chewbacca.
The night-time shows will combine live entertainment, special effects and an "epic" sound and light show projected onto the Park’s most iconic architecture.
The news comes as Disney continues to integrate its Star Was brand since acquiring Lucasfilm in 2012 and releasing The Force Awakens last year.
Star Wars themed lands are in development on 14-acre plots at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
The new Disneyland Shanghai features Star Wars Launch Bay, with characters, props and memorabilia from the most recent episodes of the space saga.
A two-night/three-day stay at Disneyland Paris during Season of the Force costs from €206pp for two adults and two children, based on a January 13 departure.
The prices, available as we publish with Abbey Travel (abbeytravel.ie), include flights and two-star accommodation at Disney's Hotel Cheyenne.
Disneyland Paris packages are also available from disneylandparis.ie, Cassidy Travel (cassidytravel.ie), breakaway.ie and clickandgo.com among others in Ireland.
