We all love a short break. Splashing out… not so much.
That’s why I opened my Irish contact book, asking everyone in it to pitch the very best deal possible for €99. The results were amazing, ranging from family campsites to five-star hotels, and I’ve crunched them into the Top 10 below… Bon voyage!
The 99, Dunbrody House, Co. Wexford
Dunbrody’s ‘99’ bundles an overnight stay, three-course dinner and late breakfast served ’til noon. The Blue Book hotel is run by Kevin and Catherine Dundon, so that’s a bargain in any man’s language. Valid midweek to the end of June.

Into the Wild, Inishbofin House Hotel, Co. Galway
Wanna get away from it all? Inishbofin House Hotel & Marine Spa is offering a one-night mini-escape including B&B with a sea-view room, dinner in the Pier Bar from the newly designed menu by Raymond McArdle... and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival. Nice touch. Valid midweek to the end of June.

Luxury Family Camping, Loop Head, Co. Clare
Fancy a night under the stars? Pure camping offers luxury camping with a twist on the Loop Head Peninsula. A family of four can stay in a beautifully-furnished canvas bell tent with stove, including a family yoga session and sauna for the grown-ups from €99 in total. Bargain! Golden Ireland specialises in Irish travel offers for the Over 55s, and it’s got a humdinger at Galway’s Glenlo Abbey. €99 not only buys you B&B at the newly-renovated five-star, but dinner in the River Room restaurant, free admission to Kylemore Abbey and a round of golf. Available midweek to June 30th.

Burren in Bloom: Hotel Doolin, Co. Clare
What will €99 buy you in the Burren? More than you think. The 4-star Hotel Doolin has one night’s B&B and a 2-3 hour guided walk with the wonderful Tony Kirby, along with a picnic for two from the Doolin Pantry. There’s a free glass of Dooliner been in Fitz’s bar afterwards, too. Available Tues-Thurs through May & June.
