Suite talk: Irish hotels countrywide
Next year, the Gathering, a global Irish homecoming that aims to attract 325,000 extra visitors, will be the biggest tourism initiative Ireland has ever staged.
If you want to get in a year early, there are some astonishing deals on offer for Americans coming back to the auld sod in 2012.
New York-based Spectre Tours (001 516 881 3282; sceptretours.com) has a six-night, four-city deal for $760 (€574) per person, including return flights, hotels in Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway and Killarney, taxes and car rental.
Its six-night package to the five-star Adare Manor (pictured) in May has been slashed to $949 (€717), including flights and car.
If you have relatives or friends coming home, make sure they sign up to Sceptre's newsletter to receive news of special offers.
They might be so tempted, you won't even need to lend out your spare room.
