A spectacular mountain walk way near the Northern Irish border is becoming a victim of its own success.

Walkers posting photos and video on social media from the summit of the Cuilcagh boardwalk trail, have prompted a surge in visitors, according to RTE (above).

Almost 30,000 people have visited the 7.5km Legnabrocky trail in Co. Fermanagh so far this year, the report says.

The new boardwalk protects the rare blanket bog from erosion and was built recently with funding provided by the EU.

Though reasonably short at 7.5km, the path is graded as 'difficult' and walkers are advised that it can take up to six hours, including the time to it takes to get snap-happy.

The total ascent is 550 metres.
