I’ll never forget my first adventure after lockdown.

Following months of travel restrictions, my son and I drove to Co Wexford in search of one of the best family walks in Ireland. We felt giddy crossing county lines. We parked near Curracloe and, well, we did what we had being doing for three months: we walked.

It felt right. In lockdown, we had tuned into nature. We knew the names of more birds (I had my camera, he his little binoculars). Our legs were hardier. My phone notifications were off. We chatted — about serious stuff and nonsense. We got tired. We had a swim. We bought chips. It was nothing. But it was everything.
