  • Escape to the 'Mamma Mia!' islands of Skiathos and Skopelos, a two-hour ferry ride from Athens. You'll be "on-location" belting out Super Trouper before you know it. (€37;
  • Chill out at the hip Vouliagmenis beach in Athens. This blue-flag strand, a magnet for water-sports buffs, is just the spot to mingle with the local bold and beautiful. (
  • Tack on to Turkey for the day. With Samos lying within a donkey's roar of Kusadasi, it's the perfect base to explore some bustling bazaars. (€45 return;
  • Take a tour of Santorini's volcano, which keeps the terrain toasty and the spring baths nice and warm. (€20;
