Pippa Middleton recently enjoyed a family holiday on the Caribbean island of Mustique, along with her sister Kate and brother-in-law Prince William and nephew Prince George.

Mustique, located a hundred miles west of Barbados, has a reputation for allowing celebrities guard their privacy while on holidays, thanks to the island's collection of villas which have large grounds to help shield guests from prying eyes.

Local activities on offer include swimming, scuba diving, sailing and a chance to go snorkelling with the turtles at the nearbyTobago Cays.

Mustique already had a royal connection - over 50 years ago Lord Glenconner, Colin Tennant, bought the undeveloped island for around €60,000, and gave his good friend Princess Margaret a plot of land on the island in 1960 as a wedding present. It sparked Mustique becoming a private island hideaway for the well-connected.

SAIL IN STYLE: On La Belle, a yacht designed with millionairesses in mind

Style on the seas

Women's high style on the high seas

Three words come to mind while looking at Monaco-based luxury designer Lidia Bersani's new yacht specifically designed for millionaire women, and they're "Ab Fab, Darling!"

Edina and Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous - played by Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley - are two TV characters we'd loved to see partying aboard La Belle, a superyacht now in the design stage and to be flamboyantly finished off with masses of gold mosaics and bespoke gold furniture, Swarovski crystal chandeliers, fur and gemstones.

The yacht, which will set you back about €87m, measures 262ft, has a curvaceous design, and is spread out over five decks, and the facilities on board include a helicopter pad, and a live- music venue - suggesting this yacht may have been designed with a singing diva in mind.

Finland is first for soothing saunas

There are more saunas in Finland than cars. The least densely populated country in Europe has a population of 5.3m - and 3.3m saunas which can be found in homes, offices, factories, sports centres, hotels, ships and deep below the ground in mines.

The only Finnish word to make it into everyday English is "sauna".

So if saunas are your thing, air fares with Finnair start at €169 Dublin to Helsinki return, and this price includes all taxes.

Helsinki, the capital city of Finland, is also a gateway between Asia and Europe - and flying with Finnair, from Dublin via Helsinki to the likes of Beijing, Bangkok and Seoul, is one of your fastest options.
