Ryanair has sprung its latest flash sale, a January promotion offering up to 20pc off over 500,000 seats.

The seat sale is available for travel between January 9 and 31, and can be booked on Ryanair.com until midnight on Wednesday, January 10.

“2018 is here and what better way to beat the January blues than with a New Year break," said Robin Kiely, the airline's Head of Communications.

From Dublin, sale fares see flights to several UK airports from €9.99 each-way, with Paris Beauvais, Cologne and Hamburg from €14.99.

Passengers can bag a Copenhagen flight from €19.99, Barcelona or Madrid from €21.99, or some winter sun in Gran Canaria from €35.99 each-way.

The sale comes as Ryanair prepares to launch its new baggage policy - which requires 'non-priority' customers to place 10kg carry-on bags in the hold.

Priority Boarding customers who pay €5 can take two carry-on bags onboard, but all others must check their larger hand baggage (for free) at the boarding gate.

The policy takes effect Monday, January 15.
