Ryanair has sprung a new flash sale - releasing 100,000 midweek flights from a fiver a pop.

That's "less than the price of a pint", as its website points out.

What's the catch?

Sale fares must be booked by midnight this Thursday, October 26, and are only valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from November 7 to December 14.

But still... flights for a fiver!

As we publish, €5 destinations available from Dublin include Frankfurt Hahn, Brussels Charleroi and several UK airports.

The sale also covers Shannon and Cork to London Stansted.

It's the latest in a series of winter discounts Ryanair promised in the wake of its catastrophic pilot "rostering failure" last month.

The airline cancelled thousands of flights, disrupting the travel plans of hundreds of thousands of passengers over the winter months.

Over 95pc of customers have now been re-routed or refunded, it says.
