Ireland's Favourite Cruise Line announced - 'It's like being in another world'
Winner: Royal Caribbean
"Tops at what they do," was how you described Ireland's favourite cruise line.
"Their ships are the best out there, the entertainment and experience is amazing. The staff and service are wonderful - they offer the best holiday my family and I have ever gone on!"
Royal Caribbean dominates the Irish cruise market, so name recognition is a factor here - though lines like Celebrity, MSC and Norwegian are catching up as our understand of the diversity on offer in this way of holidaying grows. But judges felt Royal Caribbean retains a clear lead.
"Five-star service," you said. "Amazing accommodation on board their cruise liners, spoilt for choice for entertainment, activities, you would never get bored." Cruising offers "everything at your doorstep and a different atmosphere every night," you added.
Service was a highlight with this cruise line, as was "great food and entertainment" that caters for all ages, from honeymooners and couples to multi-generational groups of parents, kids and grandparents. 2018 saw the launch of Symphony of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship, and 2019 sees RC roll out a transformation of CocoCay, its private island in the Bahamas, with a 1,600-foot zip line and the tallest water slide in North America (at 135 feet).
"It was like being in another world," one honeymooner said. "The half-stone I gained in one week wasn't so great though!"
"From stepping on board until we finished our journey, it was just one of the most magical holidays... No expense was spared in the entertainment, food, and facilities. You could partake in as little or as much as you wished, and staff were so thoughtful. Sensational holiday!"
