Hidden Valley Holiday Park tops the list of the country’s best campsites in our Reader Travel Awards 2023
“It is just geared for everything. We cannot wait to return.”
That pretty much sums up Hidden Valley, the much-loved holiday park you named Best Camping or Glamping Site in our Reader Travel Awards.
“First time there this year — amazing place with so much to do for adults and children,” one reader said.
“Clean, comfy and lots to do for the kids,” added another.
“Family craic” was mentioned, as were the “reasonable rates”. You told us this was a camping park with “something for everyone”, and time and again, shouted out its “great location” and facilities. “Super clean with fantastic amenities” and “amazing staff”, you said.
Judges noted that competition has cranked up for camping and glamping businesses all over the island, with a new generation of campers testing the waters when overseas travel was off-limits during the pandemic, and a quantum leap forward in the kind of cabins, facilities and tech now offered to guests.
Outdoor living and camping’s budget-friendly nature ensures its enduring popularity, too.
“Affordable, friendly staff, always adding new activities,” was the view of one reader. “The full package” said another. “Wildly wonderful.”
Hidden Valley has been on an exciting journey since forming in 2005, with Lloyd and Molly Williams innovating and growing the park tirelessly.
Guests won’t just find pitches for their tent or a spot for the caravan, in other words. It has boutique and glamping lodges, activities ranging from boating to adventure mini golf and laser tag, a Christmas Island experience and a brilliant Splash Valley Aqua Park (also open to day visitors).
Readers said this was a “safe” (“especially at night”) and “well-run” park, “and they invest every year in new facilities”.
This is “the closest thing to French or Italian camping” we have, you commented. “And there’s a chipper nearby for when the BBQ fails!”
This isn’t the first time Hidden Valley has won a Reader Travel Award, and we won’t be surprised if it’s not the last.
