From her mother to Ricky Gervais, the make-up artist outlines the loves of her life.

The person

My mom - she is a lovely person who has always been so supportive throughout my life. She's also great company and a good laugh!

The memory

Growing up on the Aran Islands was really special. I think being surrounded by the sea and nature is amazing for any child, and we spent all our summers outside, being adventurous - also, I do remember a lot more sunshine

The moment of the day

I'm a morning person and I start work early, so I do love mornings with lots of coffee. I also enjoy the quietness of mornings and getting out for a walk before work

The song

September by Earth, Wind & Fire, which is cheesy, I know, but really uplifting and great fun

The virtue

I'm a vegetarian for years, and I try to do my bit for animals

The movie

It has to be two. I loved Little Miss Sunshine and The Shipping News. The first is bittersweet and hilarious, whereas The Shipping News is stunningly shot, with two of my favoruite actors, Kevin Spacey and Julianne Moore

The hero

I love animals, and have huge respect for those who are in the public eye and can highlight cruelty and get people talking. Actor Ricky Gervais is a huge supporter and animal-rights activist and I have been lucky enough to meet him in London - I was in awe

The book

I love factual, so really what I mean is I love magazines, and anything related to beauty, health and fashion. But I loved The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger and still love the classic Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

The outfit

I love heading out, but I do not like being too dressed up, so at the moment I love Irish designer Fee G's latest collection of off-the-shoulder tops in hot pink and blue - so on-trend and perfect with cool jeans and heels. It fits in with Galway's bohemian style

The accessory

A scarf by my good friend Ciara Silke, of, who is based in Galway. Her prints are so beautiful, but edgy. I have a black-and-white silk scarf of hers that works with everything and looks sophisticated with a casual outfit, and it's warm, too - bonus!

The gadget

My iPhone and iPad

The pet hate

Loud people! I can be loud myself, I guess, but other people's loudness just gets my goat

The part of my body

Oh, not an easy one, but, at a push, my arms are not bad

The friend

My three sisters are my best friends, plus my school friend, Jel, who now lives in Edinburgh. We went to secondary school together on Aran and we have been besties ever since. I was her bridesmaid at her wedding in Edinburgh, and I still see her a lot

The beauty product

I've recently started using Kinvara Skincare and I am hooked. The newest product, Eye Wow! Eye Serum, is amazing for its anti-ageing and cooling roll-on application ball, I think a light moisturiser is all you need for daytime or under foundation, as there's enough moisture in most foundations, but an eye product is essential, always. A good brow is important, and I like benefit's brow zings eyebrow shaping kit

The taste

Dark chocolate - it's a kinda cool superfood now, it seems, which makes it much less of a guilty pleasure

The holiday

Sardinia, Italy. It's such a great place and I have been going for years. Lots of Italians spend their holidays there, so the food and wine are amazing. I love islands, so Sicily is another favourite for its culture and history

The piece of advice

Respect all the creatures on the planet, and be more environmentally aware from an early age, which sounds more like a rant than advice

The drink

French red wine, and I love Champagne, like most people

The hotel

I stayed in a Malmaison hotel in the UK a few times and loved its edginess and central location. I also love The House Hotel in Galway; it's in the middle of town and both the interior and atmosphere work

The hobby

I love walking and I have recently got into gardening. I love it, as it's outside and it's great to totally switch off

The bar

Neachtain's in Galway, without a doubt. It has a great atmosphere, and it does a great range of wines also. There's a pizza counter next door and you can buy a slice for a couple of euros and have it in the bar with a drink; fab!

The celebrity

Sienna Miller for her cool style and I love her hair changes, and dream wardrobe

The vice

Sugar, I guess

The smell

That smell just after it rains in the summer; and the sea always reminds me of home. And, of course, all the Tom Ford perfumes
