The interiors guru on the loves of her life including husband Dorian, her late brother and Abba.

The person

I have been very lucky in my life - a great mother and father who encourage me, and my husband Dorian, who has helped me so much with building up my shop. When I first opened Lily Bloom home and gift shop in Camolin village, Co Wexford, he helped turn my crazy ideas into reality. Dorian helped me find Autentico Chalk Paint to stock in the shop and we are now the Irish distributor

The memory

The births of our three children - Orlaith, Danny and Iwan. Like all children, each and every day they create new memories for us

The moment of the day

The first sale of the day always gives me a lift! I do love selling and enjoy seeing people being delighted with their purchase

The song

Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah. I am also a big fan of Abba; their songs always give me the feel-good factor

The movie

I prefer box sets, but again, I love Mamma Mia!, and it's a must watch over Christmas in our house. We all love it

The hero

My brother Michael, who last October lost his battle with sickness, and we never heard him complain or ask 'why me'. He loved life, his wife, his three children, his mam and dad and us, his sisters and brothers, and of course GAA. We miss him dearly every day

The book

Mostly these days I read The Gruffalo or Tractor Ted nightly. I also love autobiographies, and am currently enjoying Full On by Ivan Yates

The outfit

Capes. You can dress up any outfit, and also by wearing a cape you can work comfortably and be warm

The accessory

My Orla Kiely handbag. I bought myself one last summer and I might even treat myself to another one shortly

The gadget

My Autentico round paint brush - great for painting furniture and ideal for getting into those hard-to-reach corners

The pet hate

People who park in disabled spaces when they very obviously don't need to. I watch a girl every Tuesday morning park her car in one of these spaces and run into her fitness class

The friend

I have a small circle of really good friends

The beauty product

I love a really good perfume; my favourite is Chanel Coco

The holiday

Anywhere sunny and warm where there is no phone or internet access - I don't know how long I would survive without these two things but I would like to try

The piece of advice

Enjoy what you do if possible, and it never feels like work

The drink

A vodka and Coke; I very seldom get out any more, but when I do, I love a few drinks

The hotel

One day I will have tea in a china cup in Claridge's hotel. I spent a weekend shopping in London with my friend for her wedding dress and promised myself I will return for a weekend in Claridge's and have afternoon tea

The bar

Oh, there were so many in my 20s. I lived in Harold's Cross and worked in town. Every Thursday night we went to The Bleeding Horse

The hobby

Bargain hunting at auctions for furniture to up-cycle

The part of my body

My eyes

The celebrity

Pierce Brosnan - he always comes across as a genuinely nice guy and he is also very easy on the eye

The virtue

What you see is what you get. I do my best to be fair and honest with people and try to treat everyone equally

The vice

I'm always misplacing my keys, my phone . . . anything that is not attached to me
