The beauty boss chats to Chloe Brennan about her favourite people, places and things.

The person

My boyfriend, John. He is my rock and absolute number-one supporter in everything. Regardless of him being busy with his own work, he is there whenever I need him or when things get tough in work. I'd never tell him this, of course, but he really is the best.

The memory

When I was four, we spent Christmas in the Lakeside area in the UK. I have this memory of me being in the snow, with a beautiful Labrador dog, having the time of my life. My birthday is also Christmas Eve, so I just love that time of year.

The moment of the day

My first cup of tea. It could be first thing or the afternoon before I get a second cup, but I actually think tea heals my soul. It's the one thing I would never give up!

The song

Magic by Coldplay. I remember the first time I heard it; it was just after Chris and Gwyneth's split was announced, and I was bawling like a loser. Honestly though, I think I would have it as the song I'd walk down the aisle to - not that I'm planning my wedding or anything, but in 10 years' time, that's the plan.

The movie

The Holiday. Jude Law and Cameron Diaz are a match made in heaven.

The book

Anything with a good, thrilling twist in it. Recently, I have flown through The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena and Behind Closed Doors by BA Paris.

The hero

My mum, Clare. She is the funniest

- unknown to her! - most hard-working and caring person ever. It's just the two of us, and we are so close.

The outfit

I definitely feel most comfortable in casual/dressy outfits - high-waisted jeans, boots and a top, and I am there!

The accessory

Belts. I think they're such a handy thing to have to change an outfit up, or pull you in.

The gadget

I am a sucker for gadgets, but the one that I would be lost without is my iPhone. I also deeply cherish my laptop, but my iPhone is the main one.

The drink

A glass of Prosecco - can't beat it.

The friend

Roisin, my bestie. No one in this world can make me laugh as much as she does - I mean 'ugly crying face' laughing. I've known her since I was teeny, and we're still so close. She is basically my sister, and I don't know what I would do without her.

The hotel

Galgorm Resort and Spa in Ballymena, Co Antrim - I worked there for a weekend, and the setting was gorgeous. I believe the spa is, too.

The beauty product

Naturally, I am biased, so I have to say my Sculpted [make-up] palette, but I genuinely use this daily to sculpt my face and give me a bit of life.

I also double up and use it on my eyes, too - it's so handy.

The holiday

I am lucky to have travelled to lots of places. As much as I love heat, I do love a skiing holiday, because there's something nice about being active while away - I couldn't sit on a beach for days.

The piece of advice

Work hard and stay true to yourself. It's very easy to become influenced in a busy industry such as the beauty one, so I believe that you should work your ass off, but never compromise on your beliefs, and always stay true to you and your gut. That's what your business will be built on, and that's what will help you to grow and evolve.

The pet hate

Incompetence, or when people are slow at things - patience wouldn't be my best trait.

The hobby

I love playing tennis - not professionally, but it gets me out during the day and away from work for a bit.

The celebrity

Margot Robbie. I actually fancy her.

The taste

A digestive biscuit dipped into tea. I don't think the world has ever seen a better combination.
