WE'VE had a good few enquiries looking for more detail following on from Renault reminding its customers that their vehicles have an Anti-Intrusion Device (R.A.I.D).

They did so following recent carjacking instances.

This anti-intrusion device, on all new Renaults over the last 10 years, automatically locks the doors at approximately 10kmh.

Here are three of the main questions:

Q. Do doors remain locked if speed falls below 10kmh?

A. Yes, unless unlocked by the central locking switch on the instrument panel/centre console is pressed, or until a door is opened from the inside.

Q. Do doors remain locked if stopped at traffic lights?

A. Yes, unless unlocked by the central locking switch on the instrument panel/centre console or until a door is opened from the inside.

Q. Do doors remain locked until ignition is switched off?

A. Yes, unless unlocked by the central locking switch on the instrument panel/ centre console or until a door is opened from the inside.
