Toyota trials real-life driving support
Toyota is to conduct public road tests of its driving support system this month.
The ITS technology will transmit information from traffic-light signals to vehicles in Toyota City, Japan. It is part of a number of safety support systems being promoted by the Japanese police.
One road will be used for the tests.
According to Toyota, it will be equipped with a system to transmit traffic-light signal information to vehicles.
The system then provides alerts, if necessary, to those in vehicles through their audio system or on-screen satnav.
