Opel has introduced its IntelliLink infotainment system

Opel says its IntelliLink infotainment system can now have Siri Eyes Free which lets you ask for things to be done while you're driving.

It's on its new ADAM urban car. You use a button on the steering wheel. You need a compatible iPhone running iOS 6. It tells Siri Eyes Free to do things. Importantly you can keep your eyes on the road all the while.

It is, Opel say, more than traditional voice activation, and drivers' device screens don't display the Siri text conversation.

It is free in IntelliLink-equipped ADAMs from now on while current owners can get a free software update. The system can be updated regularly for all owners. Go to your Opel dealer.

To get started, owners just pair their Apple iOS device with the IntelliLink system via Bluetooth, and use the steering wheel voice activation button.

You can make voice-activated, hands-free calls to contacts that are on your iPhone, play songs from your iTunes library without scrolling through menus and being distracted, listen to or send an iMessage, text message or mail to a phone number or anyone in saved contacts.
