The Road Safety Authority (RSA) issued an urgent appeal yesterday for all road users to take greater care over the bank holiday weekend. This follows the deaths of four people in collisions in 24 hours.
RSA CEO Noel Brett reminded people: "The risks of being involved in a collision increase over a bank holiday weekend.
"I'm urging drivers to slow down, never drink and drive, wear your seatbelt and ensure your passengers are belted in, too.
"I'm asking cyclists and walkers to be seen to stay safe on the road, by wearing a high visibility jacket or armband."
