Rare Bentley's star turn at auction

A CLASSIC 1980 Bentley Corniche Convertible will be one of the main attractions at an auction of prestige cars next week.

One of only 77 Bentley Corniche Convertibles built between 1971 and 1984, this rare motor is a bronze two-door with a tan leather interior, air conditioning and automatic transmission. The V8 6750cc engine is in immaculate condition, with 45,586 miles on the clock.

Bidders at the Merlin auction in Naas, Co Kildare, on Wednesday will also have a choice of 35 other prestige vehicles including Audis, BMWs, Mercedes, Jaguars, Porches and a Rolls Royce Silver Spirit 11. Overall there will be more than 300 vehicles up for auction, including ex-finance vehicles, private entries and dealer part- exchanges. More than 1,000 vehicles are auctioned at Merlin's every Wednesday at 7pm and every Saturday at 11am.
