I've never seen so many people parking on the soft shoulder of motorways.
Not a flash of a hazard light or even an indicator from most of them. And only one had the bonnet lifted.
The others, two with small children, apparently just made the decision to take a break. In a couple of cases, another five kilometres would have got them to a proper layby.
One fella frightened the road tax out of me the other day.
Obviously short-taken, he dashed for the ditch leaving his door open out on to the inside lane.
Others did not seem to be in any appreciable rush but why so many of them were parked on the curve of a busy motorway is beyond me. This is madly dangerous.
