My side of the road

I like animals as much as anyone, but what my daughter and I saw last Saturday morning near Dublin city centre bordered on the ridiculous.

Initially, the barking drew our attention while we were stopped at some lights. It was non-stop. Yep, there was this cute little dog there, yelping like a rejected politician.

He (I'm presuming here; we didn't get that close) wasn't in the back where you would have expected him. Nor was he on the front passenger's seat or lap. He wasn't even in the driver's lap as such.

He was jammed, on his two hind legs, between the driver and the door barking at people in cars on other lane.

The last we saw of him, he was crossing the Liffey bridge still yelping like mad as the driver somehow managed to steer the car and keep it in lane. I've never seen anything like it – words fail me.
