my side of the road
I have just one simple question about the new laws for cyclists. How are gardaí going to manage it? They are stretched as it is to pick up on the excessive examples of silly car driving. How and where are they going to realistically identify idiots on two wheels?
I do not envy them their task. Short of someone riding their bicycle up the bonnet, over the roof and down the boot of a car travelling at 100kmh in front of a garda station, I don't know how we can have a realistic expectation of enforcement that would really impinge on the two-wheel consciousness.
Because judging from what I've seen these past few days, not too many of the offending cyclists are bothered.
