Just a quick check to gauge the age
Among the many markings on a tyre sidewall is its serial number, usually preceded by the letters 'DOT'.
The last four digits of the serial number refer to the date the tyre was made. The first two digits indicate the week of manufacture (from 01 to 52) and the final two digits indicate the year.
If the production date code is 0204, it means the tyre was manufactured in the second week of 2004.
