in focus the new ford van
Ford has just unveiled their new Focus van, writes Padraic Deane.
It replaces the successful Focus Mark III van, which was the bestseller in its segment until production stopped in 2011.
Ex-works, and VAT excluded, prices start at €15,203 with the 'Edge' version from €15,853.
It comes as a 5dr with a 1.6 TDCi (95bhp) diesel engine. It obviously draws on the strengths which have made the passenger version a top-seller here.
It has a new exterior, upgraded interior, new technologies and widely acclaimed driving dynamics – the sort of attributes needed to keep it top of its CV segment.
This new van has a gross payload of 581kg, with a load area length of 1490mm, load capacity of 1148 litres and average fuel consumption of 4.5 litres/100km.
The internal blanking of the rear windows makes it look more like a car. Standard equipment includes: air conditioning; 3.5ins multi-function display; electric heated door mirrors; body colour door handles; leather steering wheel; and driver lumbar support.
