FIAT to 'invest €9bn' to boost ailing line-up
FIAT is going to spend €9bn to resurrect its ailing line-up, according to reports. One of the casualties, according to quoted sources, would be the Punto, which would be sacrificed in the concentration on 500 and Panda models.
The money would be spent over the next three years and would include heavy investment in the Maserati and Alfa Romeo marques. Fiat brand chief Olivier Francois has already said the Panda range would be aimed at budget-conscious customers, with the 500 models focusing on buyers with more discretionary purchasing power.
