RENAULT has announced changes in structure and personnel here.

Patrick Magee, a native of Wicklow and its current sales director, becomes country operations manager for Ireland.

From September 1, he will report directly to Ken Ramirez, MD at Renault UK.

That means Renault Ireland and Renault UK will now be managed under what they describe as "a common direction".

Mr Magee has been 15 years in the motor industry and 11 years with Renault Ireland.

Current MD Duncan Minto becomes chief financial officer for the Asia Pacific region based in Hong Kong.

Mr Magee said the new organisation assured the marque's long-term presence in Ireland.

Renault will unveil its quirky Twizzys and powerful Clio RS towards the end of August. It is in the Top 10 best sellers so far this July.
