James May is might be out of Top Gear but that hasn't stopped him making his own programs on YouTube. He has called the channel "JM's unemployment tube" and the ratings are good.

James May has been keeping himself busy by making YouTube videos, his first one was playing Greensleeves on a Recorder with a hangover which has been viewed over half a million times. It's his rendition of British Grenadiers that really struck a chord with over eight hundred thousand hits.

Then he started taking requests by offering a choice to his 2.17m followers on Twitter.

They settled on him cooking Shepherd's Pie and that kicked off an instructional video which features James cooking the pie while drinking some wine.

Mr. May has said that he won't be monetizing the videos on YouTube turning down the chance to earn any money from making the videos.

The series of videos show that a good presenter is easy to watch even when he's filming in his own kitchen on an iPad. The full series of Shepherd's pie can be found below.
