It is an amazing fact in this day and age that children are still left loose in cars. I have come across several cases over the past few weeks of youngsters doing what they liked in the car.
In one case a little boy and his sister (I presume) were throwing toys at each other and then getting rightly stuck in to an argy-bargy match in the back seat.
All the while the adult driver and front-seat passenger, waiting for the lights to go green, were smiling and laughing at the antics. As if this was a quality-time moment.
Is there something all these drivers don't understand about unrestrained little bodies being flung about like toys in the event of a sudden stop or rear-end shunt?
I know I risk being repetitive by raising the issue again, but I couldn't let it rest. If mine was a rare sighting, fair enough, but I've seen too many of late for it to be anything other than a tragedy waiting to happen someone. Please do your duty and strap in your children.
