Toyota holds price as it gives new Yaris the European look
This is the new face of Toyota's Yaris.
Unveiled in Germany today, it follows in the steps of the new Aygo with a much sharper-looking front.
Toyota say the new design, part of an overall facelift, is to give the marque a more European look.
Around 60,000 Yaris superminis have been sold here since the model first arrived in 1999.
Overall, changes other than cosmetic are minimal.
The most noticeable is at the front which moves it closer in appearance to its biggest rival, the Ford Fiesta.
There are changes in the cabin too and under the hood emissions from its 3-cyl petrol engine are down from 110g/km to 99g/km.
That drops the Yaris into Band A2 with an annual tax rate of €180.
The hybrid powertrain has also been revamped and its emissions are reduced further to 75g/km with fuel consumption lowered to a claimed 3.3/ 100km or 85.3 mpg.
Prices start at €14,995 for the three door Terra, prices for the rest of the range are to be confirmed.
Final prices and specifications for all grades will be confirmed later.
