SEAT tell us that their Leon estate Cupra is the most powerful estate in its class and will get here by the summer.
The ST CUPRA pumps 280bhp and manages to do 0-100kmh in six seconds. At the same time it has 1,470 litres of cargo space - if you drop seats etc. It will debut at Geneva in March.
We will get the top-spec 2.0 TSI engine version (dual injection, variable camshaft timing). It has DCC dynamic chassis control, front differential lock, and the CUPRA Drive Profile.
Claimed fuel consumption is 6.6l/100km with the DSG version (154g/km or €390 road tax) and 6.7l/100km with the manual version (157g/km or €570 road tax).
There's an example of the automatic DSG having lower emissions - a difference of €180 a year on road tax.
There will be the option of a Performance Pack (larger Brembo brake callipers, specific wheels and special tyres).
I'm told it will cost 'under €40,000'.
