Kona tipped for the top as latest Crossover unveiled by Hyundai
Hyundai has released spec and pricing for its new Kona compact SUV - yes another Crossover/SUV on the market. It goes on sale here from November 1.
For now there is a 3cyl 120PS 1-litre petrol turbo and a 1.6-litre petrol, but there will be new 1.6 CRDi diesel and electric models by the end of next year. They expect the new car to be the bestseller in its segment in 2018.
There are three trim levels with the 1-litre and one with the 1.6-litre: Comfort 1-litre is from €20,995; Executive from €22,995; Premium from €25,995 (all 6spd) and Premium automatic (1.6) is from €28,995.
Standard spec includes air con, cruise control, 16in alloys, roof rails, LED running lights, lane keep assist, 5in chrome screen, driver fatigue warning. Executive has: auto air con, 7in touchscreen/radio, 17in alloys, front fogs, Android Auto/Apple Car Play, rear-view camera, cruise control. Premium 1-litre adds leather seats, 18ins alloys, front park assist, skid plates, blind spot detection.
And the Premium 1.6 petrol auto (€29,995) follows suit to the 1-litre at this level.
The car is 4.165m long, 1.8m wide, 1.550m tall with a 2.6m wheelbase. Ground clearance is 170mm. Boot space is 361 litres with a possible 1, 143 with the rear seats folded.
