Hotting up on forecourts as VW cut Jetta price by €1,440
AS an indication of how competitive it can get out there this 152-reg, Volkswagen are looking to win more buyers with a price cut of €1,440 on their Jetta family car.
Just as relevant, the PCP is now €259 a month. This is an important figure as more people are calculating how much they can afford for the use, rather than ownership, of a car.
Volkswagen are also being strategic with their APR on the PCPs for the Jetta, with just 2.9pc on top-spec Highline, 4.9pc on mid-trim Comfortline and 6.9pc on entry-level Trendline. When you do the figures the difference between top and bottom isn't great. They do this to great effect with the Passat.
And they have these free 152 upgrade packs; they claim they're worth €700+ (cruise control, Media-In interface, Bluetooth) for Trendline, with Comfortline getting a Technology Pack worth €1,500 (parking aid, RCD 510 radio with TFT display, Media-In interface).
Highline gets a StylingTechnology pack worth €2,500+ with 17ins alloys, RCD 510 radio, Media-In and Climatronic air con.
