Ford is likely to have both electric and internal combustion versions of the Tourneo Courier MPV on sale in Ireland.

The electric E-Tourneo Courier – in which you would expect a fair deal of interest – will be on the market by the end of next year while the EcoBoost petrol-powered version is planned for deliveries later this year

The five-seat multi-activity vehicle is being projected as a practical EV and is one of 10 all-electric vehicles Ford is planning by 2024.

It is targeting zero emissions for all new vehicle sales in Europe by 2035. The company is investing billions globally to achieve a targeted run rate of more than two million all-electric vehicles by the end of 2028.

The E-Tourneo Courier was developed from the ground up to maximise space and practicality..

It is designed to carry five adults and their luggage in comfort, Ford say.

They claim 44pc more boot space than the outgoing Tourneo Courier.
