Shortcuts with Eddie...

First deliveries begin next month. There are three versions: Standard Range Plus, Long Range AWD and Model 3 Performance.
The competitor for the Audi A4, BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-Class, etc, is expected to attract a lot of Irish buyers, many of whom have already paid a €1,000 deposit to get priority delivery.
I don't know what it's doing on a motoring page but Skoda's love/cycling idea is worthy of mention anyway.
You can now spin the wheel and possibly find a date thanks to their bicycle event with a difference.
The distributors here will hold the second Speed Dating event on Saturday, June 29 - from 8.30am - in Avon Rí, Blessington, Co Wicklow.
It operates like the traditional speed date format with one exception: you're on a bicycle. Those taking part get a short time to speak to a potential partner before a bell rings and they move onto the next participant.
It means you get to meet a lot of potential dates in person. There are two lines of cyclists - males on one side, females on the other.
You keep moving but when the cycling marshal sounds a bell or whistle every three to four minutes, the man cycles up the line to the next lady and so on.
It would be good to have some cycling experience but it is not essential.
So long as you are reasonably fit, you should get through the route. But a road or racer-type bike is mandatory.
And does it work? Well, two couples are still together nearly 12 months later.
Cost of entry is €40 and includes a rider's pack with your individual race number, cycling jersey, a range of Škoda cycling merchandise and some entertainment, including a free BBQ for all when the cycling is done and dusted. Places are limited. Good luck.
