Audi's slick A7 Sportback to cost from €78,000
First look: Audi A7
Audi's new A7 Sportback model will cost from €78,150 on-the-road, the company has announced.
The new variant ('available to order now' as they say) is claimed to benefit from much higher spec and is boosted by 'mild hybrid' technology which is available with all the 3-litre diesels (from 286hp, 620Nm torque, 0-100kmh in 5.7 seconds). They expect the 3-litre TDi S-Line to be the model most in demand.
Previous A7s have always been something of a favourite for so many people - by that I mean those who can and those who can't afford one - due to its blend of slick 4dr coupe looks and driving.
Included among major spec items on the Sportback version are an 8spd Tiptronic transmission, LED headlamps, lane assist and the brand's latest haptic touchscreen MMI operating system.
The car's mild-hybrid set-up uses a 48-volt primary electrical system and a belt alternator starter (BAS) which generates up to 12kW of recuperation power.
It means, for example, that the car can coast with the engine off for a while and then restart smoothly.
