More than 400 people were on hand for the official opening of the new Porsche Centre Dublin.

The new dealership is at exit 5 of the M50 at Charlestown, Dublin 11, having relocated from Rochestown Avenue, Dún Laoghaire.

The state-of-the-art flagship facility in Charlestown has the full range of Porsches, products and services - and all were there to see on the night.

The €10m investment in the country's only Porsche dealership is part of the Joe Duffy Motor Group's €30m expansion plan.

The dealership will create an extra 10 jobs over the next year in sales, after-sales and administration.

Group chief executive Gavin Hydes said: "With a 23-car showroom, a Porsche Classic Corner and a seven-bay workshop, this new facility will provide an exceptional environment for our customers and employees to view, showcase and experience the full Porsche range."

He said the substantial investment underlined their confidence in the Porsche brand.

Finally, he expects the new centre will "enjoy excellent visibility" for the 122,000 motorists' who use the M50 on a daily basis.
