Audi A3 is World Car of the Year
AUDI's A3 is the World Car of the Year. It follows in the footsteps of the A6, which won the first overall title in 2005.
The A3 won from the votes of 69 automotive journalists from 22 countries.
Mercedes has begun production of an electric version of its B-Class people carrier. It is planned for sale later in the year and will have a driving range of around 200km (124 miles) between charges.
Developed in partnership with Tesla it is powered by a 174bhp front-mounted electric motor.
TOYOTA PLANS MORE FRUGAL ENGINES
Toyota is working on a series of new engines that will improve fuel consumption by at least 10pc.
The company says the engines will power models that are shortly due a revamp.
In all, Toyota will bring 14 new engine variations to the market next year.
