A drive down memory lane: The Citroen Traction Avant
EIGHTY years ago, Citroen brought out a strange-looking car to the market. Not only that, but it had front-wheel-drive (traction avant in French – hence the name).
That was virtually unheard of for most cars back then.
The 7A, as it was named then, also had an all-steel monocoque design (body/chassis all the one). The front-wheel-drive changed how cars handled and drove. It is now the basic format for most cars – most likely the one you are driving.
