Creative thinkers and policymakers from around the world descended on Dingle for a special event exploring Ireland's relationship with its disapora.

The Ireland's Edge 2017: Migration Nation opened yesterday at the Dingle Skellig Hotel, Co Kerry, and it continues today.

The two-day conference is providing a platform for debate, discussion and ideas, exploring what it means to be Irish abroad and how this country might be able to harness this resource.

Contributors include filmmaker Emer Reynolds, artist John Gerrard and Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs Ciaran Cannon.
