Love without borders... Mack & Derby make a big trip for their Big Day
Mackenzie and Derby became good friends whilst studying theatre at university. After graduating, Mack moved to New York while Derby started his career in London, but their friendship remained strong. Soon Derby decided to make the move to New York too, and after lots of worrying and debating "will this ruin our friendship" they progressed into dating. The worries were unnecessary and, as these beautiful pictures demonstrate, it was true love built on a lasting foundation of friendship.
For their wedding, Mack and Derby wanted to celebrate their Irish and Scottish heritages with a hint of spontaneity so they decided to travel to Dublin for a "destination wedding" with a difference. Bringing friends and family with them, they chose the beautiful Fitzwilliam Square for an outdoor wedding ceremony. For a Scottish feel, Derby's groomsmen each wore a tartan square and thistle in their boutonnieres by The Informal Florist, whilst bagpipes serenaded Mack as she walked down the aisle.
After their ceremony and some quick outdoor snacks, led by their bagpiper, Mack and Derby and the wedding party proceeded through the streets of Dublin. First stop was O'Donoghue's pub on Baggot Street and after pints of Guinness and an impromptu trad session, Mack and Derby then strolled on to House Dublin on Leeson Street for their reception meal. The stylish city venue was the perfect location for this intimate wedding party to toast the happy couple and party the night away.
