The Great Yeats Birthday Party at Lissadell House, Sligo, on Saturday will celebrate the association of the great poet with Lissadell House in an atmosphere of fun and entertainment, with poetry recitations by stars such as Anne Doyle, left, sean nos singing, music, discussions, dancing and a woodland poetry walk.


Actor Gabriel Byrne, below right, and authors Lia Mills, Ross O'Carroll Kelly, Belinda McKeon and Sara Baume are some of the people lined up for the Dalkey Book Festival, whcih runs from June 11 to 14.


The James Joyce Centre's Bloomsday Festival runs over six days and highlights include Stephen Fry, right, in conversation with Senator David Norris, an evening of high tea and high conversation, Yeats & Joyce: An Evening of Music and Poetry, and the Bizarre Bloomsday Brunch. Running from June 11 to 16.


Monsters, Dinosaurs, Ghosts, written by Jimmy McAleavey and directed by Caitriona McLaughlin, is premiering at the Peacock from Tuesday, and is a darkly funny play which takes a look at why men go to war. Starring Lalor Roddy, right, David Pearse, Ryan McParland and Steve Blount, it contains strong language, flashing lights and is suitable for ages 14 plus.


ON, the Limerick School of Art & Design Graduate Show of 2015 featuring the work of final-year LSAD graduates, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, fashion and visual communications, runs at LSAD, Clare Street Campus, Limerick, until next Sunday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily.
