The 8th Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition will take place in Trinity College and the National Concert Hall, from Friday, January 22, to Thursday, January 28. Over 50 singers will compete, accompanied on piano.


Linger is a contemporary Irish step dance work for two male dancers, choreographed and directed by Breandan de Gallai, and presented by Dance Ireland, Dance Limerick and Firkin Crane, Cork, at the Project Arts Centre, Temple Bar, from January 20 to January 23.


The Sundays @ Noon Concert Series takes place in the Sculpture Gallery at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Parnell Square north, and aims to present the best of Irish and international musicians. Audience members are asked to contribute €2. Today's performance will feature Matthew Nolan on guitar and Adrian Crowley on piano/clarinet.


IMMA has partnered with the Irish Film Institute on a programme of films selected to coincide with the exhibition What We Call Love: From Surrealism to Now, on how the surrealist tradition incorporated themes of love into their experimental works. Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January.


Growing Green Fingers - Gardening Classes for Beginners, at the National Botanic Gardens, is a series of eight classes on Tuesdays and Saturdays over four weeks, including Introduction to Gardening Soils on Saturday, January 23, Weed Control on Tuesday January 26, and Designing your Garden on Saturday January 30.
