Evelyn Cusack, Met Eireann, and Alice Taylor, author, are two of the guests speakers at the Galway Garden Festival, Claregalway Castle, taking place on Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5, 11am to 6pm both days. Jane Stark, botanic artist, will also speak.


Killruddery House, situated between Bray and Greystones, is the venue for the Groove Festival, a hassle-free festival with a great line-up including Christy Moore, The Darkness, The Riptide Movement, The Delorentos, Kila, Wallis Bird and many more. From Saturday July 4 to Sunday July 5, with lots of outdoor and kids activities.


The Promenade Festival in Tramore, Co. Waterford, is a perfect weekend out for the family with sand artists, puppet shows, circus acts, market stalls, music trail, arts and crafts, drama and a vintage area. It runs from Friday July 3 to Sunday July 5.


Celebrating his 80th birthday this year, actor Des Keogh is fulfilling a life-long ambition by playing legendary Irish man of letters George Bernard Shaw in the show My Fair Ladies at the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire, from Wednesday July 1 to Saturday July 4, during which he shares anecdotes about Shaw's leading ladies.


Punch Lion Kids Comedy Club is a family-friendly stand-up comedy show with MC Andrew Stanley, and with guests including award-winning comedian Sharon Mannion, left, and Kevin Gildea from Father Ted, and funny sketches from Foil, Arms & Hog, on Saturday July 4 at 2pm and 4pm, age 6 +, at Draiocht, Blanchardstown.
