Old Vic terrace gets contemporary look

Le Bas Terrace, Rathmines, Dublin 6

Le Bas Terrace

Le Bas Terrace is a contemporary addition to a Victorian terrace on Leinster Road West in Rathmines. Indeed, the infill development has even retained the façade and imposing front door of an existing Victorian home that once occupied the site.

There are currently three of the red-brick four-bed homes for sale at the gated scheme, which was designed by OMS Architects. Each of the properties at the enclave was individually designed, so no two are alike.

Sizes range from 1,884 sq ft for No 6 Le Bas Terrace to 2,174 sq ft for No 8, while guide prices go from €950,000 to €1.2m. No 7 has already been sold. All come with private gardens to the rear, and a shared forecourt.

At No 8, one of two of the properties behind the existing façade, there are traditional sash windows to the front and AluClad windows with granite sills to the rest of the property.

Inside, there is a double-height living room with a built-in gas fire, underfloor heating with European oak engineered flooring, a mezzanine level, and a kitchen and island unit from Leicht. The bathrooms and suites are also contemporary in style and have Duravit sanitary ware,
