Shankill showhome is last remaining unit
Shanganagh Drive is an enclave of just four homes in the leafy south Dublin village of Shankill. The bespoke development was built last year by the McGrath Group on a site that was once home to a 1920s house called Bognor.
The scheme is located just off Shanganagh Road, on the Loughlinstown side of Shankill, and is within walking distance of the coast. Now that three of the four homes have been snapped up, just the showhouse remains on the market.
No. 1 Shanganagh Drive costs €595,000, a price-tag that includes the entire contents. Like its neighbouring houses, No. 1 was designed with trading-up families in mind: its 1,744 sq ft of accommodation is spread over three floors, the layout du jour at new high-end schemes in South Co Dublin.
The façade is finished in a neutral render with a sage and cream window trim and a panelled front door. There is cobble-lock parking for two cars out front, and a south-facing split-level garden and patio to the rear that can be accessed by side gates as well as through the French patio doors from the kitchen.
Inside, the ground floor has a living room with a wood-burning stove. At the back of the house is a custom-designed fitted kitchen with a dining area and a small lounge: this space has extra natural light from a vaulted atrium window. The classic-style kitchen with painted units is by Nolan Kitchens and comes with stone worktops, a pull-out larder, an island unit with a breakfast bar, a full range of Bosch appliances, and porcelain Lord Marfil tiling.
The first floor has three bedrooms, including the master ensuite, and a family bathroom. There is another ensuite bedroom with walk-in wardrobes on the top floor.
The A2-rated home is a 10-minute walk from Shankill's Dart station, while the closest Luas stop is at Cherrywood, a 25- minute walk. Shankill is also served by several bus routes, including the Aircoach to Dublin Airport.
Viewings of the showhouse will be held tomorrow, from 12pm to 12.30pm.
