Sea for yourself
Eastham Square, Bettystown, Co Meath
The Meath coastline has become a building hub for developers of late - but the developer behind Eastham Square in Bettystown is counting on the latest addition to the market drawing house-hunters from rival schemes with the allure of its location - Eastham Square is just 500m away from the beach.
Built by Ashcroft Property Development, which has also bought other sites in the area, Eastham Square will eventually consist of 44 homes, including five-bed detached houses fronting onto Eastham Road. A second release of 16 properties comes on stream this weekend. Eight of these are three-bed semi-detached houses from the Tern design (all the house types are named after seabirds); these have 1,200 sq ft of accommodation and are priced from €275,000. The remaining eight are from three different styles of four-bed semi-detached styles, including the Shearwater, which costs from €298,950 and the Fulmar, an end-of-row type with a corner garden, 1,565 sq ft of living space, and a price-tag of €335,000.
The façades at Eastham Square are finished in a mix of Ibstock cream brick and buff mortar. Each house has been fitted with attic trusses for extra storage or for a future conversion. The kitchens are from Cawleys Furniture's Classico high-glass range.
The A3-rated properties at Eastham Square have a Matthews bus stop outside that serves DCU, the IFSC and the city centre. There are also rail services from Laytown train station.
