More than 60 homes have been sold at Meadowbank since the new Swords development launched in early February beside Millers Glen, the scheme that hit the headlines in 2014 for being the first major new scheme in north Dublin in seven years.
Gannon Homes, the developer of Millers Glen, is building 186 homes at Meadowbank, situated off the Glen Ellan Road, near the Swords Educate Together National School and Gaelscoil Bhrian Bóroimhe primary schools.
To cater for demand, Gannon Homes has been releasing additional houses at Meadowbank every few weeks since the first phase of 40 units went on the market in February. There are 12 houses currently available. Prices in the latest tranche start at €297,500 for a two-bed home measuring 926 sq ft. However, these so-called affordable homes are only available to first-time buyers who qualify for a Government-backed Rebuilding Ireland mortgage from Fingal County Council. For standard buyers at Meadowbank, prices start at €335,000 for a three-bed house, with sizes ranging from 1,141 sq ft for the smallest townhouse to 1,259 sq ft for a semi-detached version.
There are two styles of four-beds available: the end-of-terrace design spans 1,453 sq ft and costs from €430,000, while the largest design — a 1,636-sq ft, three-storey, four-bed semi-detached style — is priced from €450,000.
The A3-rated properties are about 2km from the centre of Swords and are just off the M1 motorway, close to the M50. Viewings will resume on April 27 and 28, between 2pm and 4pm.
